favorite things ~ best nut butter EVAH

Oh how I have been meaning to review this.

Disclaimer: No Justin’s does not know who I am. I have never spoken to Justin and as far as I know he has no idea how much I love this product. He’s just livin’ the dream in Colorado, making delicousness and presumably eating lots of it as well. But alas…on with the review.

I will admit. I am a fan of another nut butter. I won’t say it here {nutella}, but it hails from Europe and I think it’s basically like frosting {nutella}, which is probably why it’s so good, but also why you really shouldn’t be eating it {nutella}. I think some of you know what I’m talking about {nutella}… Karen? Raegan? European readers? {nutella?}

But what IF you could have your nut butter and EAT IT TOO?

Enter Justin’s. My new nut butter lover. (Also Justin is an actual PERSON apparently. Weird.)

I found it perusing the nut butters for something organic and without corn syrup. It’s a little pricey compared, but hey, I’m all about paying a little bit more for something a lot better for you.

How do you eat this you ask? Well let me tell you…

On toast. Bam.

With strawberries. Or bananas. Oh the endless possibilities.

On bread of any kind. Or waffles.

On a graham cracker. Ooo how about on these homemade graham crackers. YUM. Oooor these grain and gluten free graham crackers?

DO you really require any further suggestions?

My stomach is growling.

Delicious. Like wow.

It’s a little bit nuttier (and less smooth) than the ‘other’ nut butter. But that’s ok. We aren’t looking for replication here. Just assimilation.

The nutrition content breaks down this way: Calorically it’s almost the same BUT the first ingredient in this is…ohmygodwhat? HAZELNUTS?

It’s not frosting sweet which I like because I don’t really want to eat frosting from a jar, but this I feel good about.

Check out the ingredients:

There are SEVEN ingredients and I can pronounce them ALL. I would totally let my kids eat this for breakfast and not even bat an eye.

Oh ALSO… They’re a green company. Which you know I LOVE. Being the earth loving lady I am.

The hits just keep on coming.

I’m not trying to compare apples to apples, or nutty deliciousness to nutty deliciousness as it were, because only this nut butter deserves it’s own category. It’s that good. They have other varieties. Wow. OH AND nut butter CUPS. In compostable wrappers. Can you say loooooove?

Annnnd…You won’t believe where I got it.

There are many fine retailers where a jarĀ  of this deliciousness can be obtained (also it comes in little squeezable pouches. BRILLIANT for travel, hiking, letting your kids suck on in the car, that sort of thing). But WALMART? If they ever stop carrying it i.will.cry. Because then I would have to drive an hour to buy it. I’d totally do it though.

Justin, from the bottom of my nut butter lovin’ heart, I thank you.

My favorite thing to do with that other frosting butter? Banana chips. Our farmer’s market has their own slightly sweetened ones from the Philippines.

    Oh My.

That’s it, I’m reviewing the Honey Butter today. And Wal-Mart?!?! You mean I don’t have to trek all the way to overpriced Whole Foods to pick up this deliciousness? How much did you pay? I think mine was like $6.48 or something but of course that doesn’t include 9.5% sales tax in TN which is total and complete highway robbery… But I can’t complain since we don’t have state income tax.

You like how I made a PB post about taxes?? ;)

  6. Sweet Post. Take that Nutella!
